José “El Marqués”, is recognized as an exceptional artist with an extensive career in the Spanish and international music scene. Creator of his own language, the result of a rich combination of the most diverse influences, he is a pioneer in the inclusion of the cello in Flamenco, giving it a totally personal style in its various fields, and a voice of its own. A cellist, improviser and composer, his music transcends the usual boundaries between genres. Throughout a fervent career his creations and his enormous interpretative talent have led him to perform side by side with great artists such as Camerata Flamenco Project, Carmen Linares, Sandra Carrasco, Antonio Campos, Rafael Riqueni, Juan Manuel Cañizares, Daniel Doña, Rafaela Carrasco, Paco del Pozo and Rafael Jiménez “Falo” among many others, being acclaimed by the public and the critics.

José “El Marqués” in addition to the “FILÓN MINERO” of the VXIII contest of the Cante de las Minas (2024), has also been awarded with the “Prize of composition to the best original music for dance” in the XI International Contest of Choreography of Flamenco and Spanish Dance. He has also been Finalist in the “TALIA” 2023 awards and has been nominated as best composer for the MAX awards.
